The mission of the Hawthorne Fire Department is to protect the lives and property in our community from loss due to fire, medical emergencies, and other disasters through public education and awareness as well as fire suppression and rescue services. Caring about those we serve, we strive to provide the most efficient and highest quality services possible.

The Hawthorne Fire Department is staffed by twenty-one line personnel and led by our Chief Jesse Modican.

The Department operates two engines and one brush unit.  We provide protection for the City of Hawthorne and the surrounding unincorporated area of Alachua County.  The Hawthorne Fire Department responds to approximately 400 emergencies per year including rescue, vehicle accidents and structural incidents.
